Bipolar disorder is a mental health problem characterize by very drastic mood swings. People with this disorder can feel very happy then turn very sad.
There are still many people who consider this mental problem as something taboo and are still not fully aware of the existence of bipolar disorder and how to detect and treat it.
Bipolar can be suffered for a lifetime so that it affects the daily activities of the sufferer. However, with the provision of drugs and psychotherapy are able to help sufferers carry out daily activities.

What causes Bipolar Disorder?
The cause of bipolar is not known for certain. This condition is thought to occur due to genetic and environmental factors and lifestyle.
Some argue that this condition causes by an imbalance of neurotransmitters or substances controlling brain function. In addition, there are also those who argue that this disorder is related to genetic factors (heredity).
Some of the other factors mentioned are due to experiencing high levels of stress, traumatic experiences, addiction to alcohol or drugs, and having a close family history (siblings or parents) suffering from bipolar condition.
Symptoms of Bipolar
In general, the main sign or symptom of bipolar disorder is the occurrence of drastic mood swings. These mood swings can occur within hours, days, or months.
Common symptoms of bipolar include:
- Trouble sleeping or insomnia
- Feelings of happiness or enthusiasm
- Passionate passion
- Lack of interest in activities
- Feeling excessively guilty
